นายธนวรรธน์ พลวิชัย ผู้อำนวยการศูนย์พยากรณ์เศรษฐกิจและธุรกิจ มหาวิทยาลัยหอการค้าไทย เปิดเผยว่า ผลสำรวจพฤติกรรมการใช้จ่ายของผู้บริโภคช่วงเทศกาลตรุษจีน (16-22 ม.ค.60) จากกลุ่มตัวอย่าง 1,215 ตัวอย่าง พบว่า ผู้บริโภคส่วนใหญ่ 55.6% จะใช้จ่ายช่วงตรุษจีนปีนี้เพิ่มขึ้น เพราะเศรษฐกิจดีขึ้น ราคาสินค้าแพงขึ้น และรายได้เพิ่มขึ้น ทำให้คาดว่าการใช้จ่ายในช่วงเทศกาลตรุษจีนปีนี้จะมีเม็ดเงินสะพัดรวม 54,900 ล้านบาท เพิ่มขึ้น 5.4% จากปีก่อน ซึ่งถือเป็นมูลค่าสูงสุดเป็นประวัติการณ์นับตั้งแต่เริ่มทำการสำรวจในปี 50
